About Quackr

Quackr is best known for free public numbers in 24+ countries. Its paid plans are rentals, not single codes: an "app number" for one app from $4.10 a month (US, UK and Australia), or a private number for every app from $14.99 a month, renewing until you cancel. Numbers receive SMS only, and there is an API.

So the choice is mostly about the model: Quackr if you want one number for a month or more; pay per code if you only need to verify once.

When Quackr is the better choice

  • You want one private number for several months or a year.
  • You want a number that works for every app at once.
  • You also want their extras, such as a private email address.

When SMS Pin Verify is the better choice

  • You want to pay per code and only when the code arrives: a number with no code expires after 15 minutes at no cost.
  • The app may ask for a code again, and you want to keep the same USA number for 3, 7, 14 or 25 days (from $1.00).
  • You want several USA routes per app, so if one is out of stock or a code does not come, you can try another at a different price.
  • You want to test first with free numbers before you pay.
  • You pay with crypto such as USDT or BTC and want the balance added automatically.

Switching from Quackr

  1. Create a free account and add a small balance.
  2. Pick the app and country. For USA apps, compare the routes on the service page and start with the cheapest one in stock.
  3. Use a one-time number for a single sign-up, or a rental if the app will ask for a code again.
  4. Moving an integration? The API guide shows how to request a number and read the SMS.

Before you switch, read why verification codes do not arrive: the fixes apply on every service.

For developers

The same numbers are available through a REST API: request a number and poll for the SMS, at the website's prices and with the same charge-on-delivery rule. Endpoints and examples are in the API guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is a free Quackr number good for WhatsApp or Gmail?

Usually not. Free numbers are shared and public, so popular apps block them and anyone can read your code. Use a private number for a real account.

Do I need a monthly plan on SMS Pin Verify?

No. You pay per code, and only when the code arrives. Rentals are optional and do not renew.

Which is cheaper for one sign-up?

A one-time number here costs a few cents to a few dollars; Quackr's cheapest paid option is a monthly app number from $4.10.

Is it legal to use a virtual number for verification?

Using a number you paid for to receive your own codes is legal in most places. Follow each app's rules: do not use numbers to evade bans or make fake accounts.
