Verification code not arriving? Most cases come down to the number, filtered texts or a rate limit. Start with 5 quick checks, then open the guide for your app.
If an app never sends to your number or refuses it, the number type is usually the reason: many apps reject internet-based (VoIP) numbers and numbers that were used on other accounts. A non-VoIP number from a real mobile carrier works far more often. Use a rental number for any account you will keep, because apps ask for a new code when you sign in on a new phone. Most often the number or country code is wrong, texts from short codes are filtered or blocked, the app has paused codes after too many attempts, or the app refuses your type of number.
Many apps (Telegram, Google, Apple, Amazon) send the code or a sign-in prompt to a device or email you already use, because that is safer than SMS.

Usually a few hours, sometimes a day. Each new try during the wait can make it longer.
