Ticketmaster Verification Code Not Received? 8 Fixes

Posted on 31/10/26 07:49 pm

Ticketmaster code not arriving? Check the number on your account, get the code by email if offered, and don't retry fast. 8 fixes in order.

Ticketmaster sends codes when you sign in on a new device, confirm your phone before buying or transferring tickets, and register for Verified Fan sales. When a big on-sale is minutes away, a missing code is stressful, so here are the checks that solve it fastest.

Check these first (30 seconds)

  • The number on your account. The text goes to the mobile number saved in your Ticketmaster account, which may be an old one.
  • Email instead. Sign-in codes can often go to your email. Check the inbox and spam.
  • Short-code texts. Ticketmaster texts come from a short code; some prepaid plans block those.
  • Spam and filtered texts. Check the spam or "unknown senders" folder.

8 fixes, in order

  1. Check the number on your account. Sign in, open My Account → Profile, and make sure the mobile number is the one you have.
  2. Choose email. On the code screen, pick the email option if Ticketmaster offers it.
  3. Resend once. Wait for the timer, then request one new code. Only the newest works.
  4. Allow short-code texts. If you replied STOP to Ticketmaster texts, reply START in that thread, and ask your carrier to allow short codes if your plan blocks them.
  5. Turn off SMS filters and restart. Pause spam filters and blockers, toggle airplane mode and check signal.
  6. Update the app or use the website. Install the latest Ticketmaster app, or sign in at ticketmaster.com.
  7. Do it before the sale. Sign in and verify your phone the day before a big on-sale, not in the queue.
  8. Contact fan support. If the number is "already in use" or you lost the old number, Ticketmaster support can update it.

Verified Fan and ticket limits

For Verified Fan sales, Ticketmaster links each registration to a verified mobile number, and the access code is texted to that number. Use the same number you will have on sale day, and sign in to the same account.

Ticket limits and Verified Fan rules are per person. Using extra numbers or accounts to get more tickets breaks Ticketmaster's terms and can cancel orders, so this guide only covers getting the code for your own account.

When your own number just won't work

If your carrier never delivers Ticketmaster's texts, another mobile number can help, but tickets live in your account, so the number has to keep working.

In that case a non-VoIP number is the practical fix. These are real mobile-carrier numbers, which is what Ticketmaster expects. On SMS Pin Verify you can pick a USA number for Ticketmaster and the code appears on screen in your account:

  • One-time number: held for you for 15 minutes to receive one code. If no code arrives, you are not charged. Good for a single sign-up.
  • Rental number: the same number for several days or longer. This is the better choice for Ticketmaster, because it asks for a new code when you sign in on another phone, often right when you need your tickets.

Two honest limits: a code is never guaranteed, because Ticketmaster decides whether to send it; and a number may have been used on Ticketmaster before you, so start a fresh account rather than trying to recover an old one.

Keep your account after you get in

  • Keep your mobile number current in My Account so transfer and sign-in codes reach you.
  • Add your tickets to your phone's wallet where Ticketmaster allows it, so you are not signing in at the venue gate.
  • Use a strong, unique password and keep your email account secure; it is your backup for codes.
  • Never share a Ticketmaster code. Sellers asking for "the code to transfer the tickets" are a common ticket scam.
