DoorDash code not arriving? Check the number on your account, get the code by email if offered, and wait before resending. 7 fixes in order.
DoorDash texts a code when you sign up, sign in on a new device, or change account details. Customers and Dashers use separate apps but the same kind of codes. Here is how to get yours.
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Code screen, nothing arrives | Slow delivery, blocked short codes or an old number. | Wait a minute, check spam, then resend once or choose email. |
| Too many attempts | Codes paused after many requests. | Wait a few hours before one clean try. |
| Phone number already in use | Another account uses that number. | Sign in to that account, or contact DoorDash support. |
| Wrong code | Old or mistyped code. | Use the newest code only. |
A Dasher account is tied to your identity, background check and payouts, and DoorDash may check that the phone belongs to you. Use your own mobile number for a Dasher account, never a temporary one.
For a customer account, the number is mainly for sign-in and delivery updates. Keep it current so drivers can reach you about your order.
For a customer account, if your carrier never delivers DoorDash's texts, another mobile number can receive the code.
In that case a non-VoIP number is the practical fix. These are real mobile-carrier numbers, which is what DoorDash expects. On SMS Pin Verify you can pick a USA number for DoorDash and the code appears on screen in your account:
Two honest limits: a code is never guaranteed, because DoorDash decides whether to send it; and a number may have been used on DoorDash before you, so start a fresh account rather than trying to recover an old one.
Usually an old number on the account, blocked short-code texts, or too many attempts.
In many cases you can choose email on the code screen.
No. Use your own number for a Dasher account; it is tied to your identity and payouts.
For customer accounts, non-VoIP mobile numbers usually do.
