About SMSPool

SMSPool is run by SMSPool B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands. Its public API lists about 150 countries and 1,450 services. It offers one-time numbers, long-term rentals, a REST API, web, iOS and Android apps, refunds when no SMS arrives, and payment by card (through Stripe) or crypto.

On the day we checked, SMSPool's US price list did not include PayPal or Venmo.

When SMSPool is the better choice

  • You want native iOS or Android apps.
  • You pay by card through Stripe.
  • Their price for your app is lower on the day you buy.

When SMS Pin Verify is the better choice

  • You want to pay per code and only when the code arrives: a number with no code expires after 15 minutes at no cost.
  • The app may ask for a code again, and you want to keep the same USA number for 3, 7, 14 or 25 days (from $1.00).
  • You want several USA routes per app, so if one is out of stock or a code does not come, you can try another at a different price.
  • You want to test first with free numbers before you pay.
  • You pay with crypto such as USDT or BTC and want the balance added automatically.

Switching from SMSPool

  1. Create a free account and add a small balance.
  2. Pick the app and country. For USA apps, compare the routes on the service page and start with the cheapest one in stock.
  3. Use a one-time number for a single sign-up, or a rental if the app will ask for a code again.
  4. Moving an integration? The API guide shows how to request a number and read the SMS.

Before you switch, read why verification codes do not arrive: the fixes apply on every service.
